Severance Agreements

A severance agreement may be offered to an employee upon separation from employment, usually in conjunction with a release of claims the employee may have against the employer. These agreements often provide for review by the employee's attorney prior to signing. Kevin handles these types of agreements for staff and management and executive level employees. He evaluates whether the agreements are reasonable in scope when waiving the employee rights to sue, do not violate existing laws, and are reasonably supported, when possible, by severance compensation other than that already earned. Kevin also represents employees in unemployment hearings.
